I have been studying accelerators for about 20 years. I have experience designing, building, and measuring accelerators, and I would like to continue making a living with accelerators. I'm thinking of starting a blog as a reminder and spreader of the accelerator.

Poisson Superfish

Poisson Superfish is one of the powerful tools for beam simulation and free.

There are handy tools in the Poisson Super fish.

The Energy to particle velocity calculates particle velocity and energy by Beta and Gamma, which are intended Lorentz factor.

Here is a result table from 100keV to 10.1MeV for electron beams.

Don't forget to put the path of C:\LANL at the environment variable.


SUPERFISH provides field data by reading the .af file.
Here is an example (download here).
RMASS is defined as particle type.
The default parameter is -2 which means proton.
When you want to change rest-mass (Particle rest mass energy), put rmass=-1.
